Barbara Lea is an artist currently living and working in Duluth, Minnesota.  She paints from observation, paying attention to the world and the air around objects.


For her, drawing is a delight and a dance.


Whenever Barbara is in the studio she is working on a self portrait, creating for herself how she is seen.


Born to War is a project begun in 2005 during the Iraq War.  A website and an installation, it is made up of portraits of the 171 American military women killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
